In honor of the culminating celebration of Chinese New Year, come derive the healing benefits
from the Yin & Yang elements of practicing Taoist Yoga (Tao Yin Lung Shen)
with highly praised healing arts instructor, arts educator & performance
artist, Gabrielle (de Burke) Casella.
In this workshop
the “Yin” (still) postures
concentrate on creating more elasticity in the connective tissue
(ligaments/tendons) & the “Yang” (flowing) postures place more emphasis on
in the enhanced function of muscle tissue. This 1st part of the
workshop will focus on “Yin” (Lunar) meditative poses, while the 2nd
part will place emphasis on “Yang” (Solar) flowing movements. Meditate through the music & on the poetry of ancient
Taoist mystical philosophy being read aloud to practitioners during “Yin” poses
while practicing the art of emptying the mind & thus filling the energetic
body during “Yang” focused flows. The workshop will be made accessible to a
range of experience & challenges all practitioners from beginners to

Taoist Meditation & Yoga

A special
introduction workshop on the theories and methods of Taoist Meditation,
Qigong and Yoga. We will discuss some of the theories of the ancient
Chinese cultivation methods, views on the mind and Qi and how it works
in the human body including the Small Heavenly Circulation and Pre-Natal
breathing. We will also go through the Taoist Qigong and Yoga series
of Dao In Lung Shen, a set of yoga-like exercises that open the
extra-ordinary channels and twelve organ Meridians to enhance the
free-flow of Qi. This workshop is suitable for all levels. For those
interested in continuing this practice, there are regular classes in and

Sifu Dylan Kirk has
spent his life immersed in traditional eastern cultures. He is a senior
disciple of Master Chik Qadir Mason from whom he earned the level of
Black Sash and Sifu. He has studied, practiced and taught classical
Taoist martial, healing and meditation arts for the past 12 years and
now runs the Toronto branch of Spiritwind Internal Arts. He received his
diploma of TCM from Ontario College of Traditional Chinese Medicine
where he is now an instructor. He is well known for his ability to
clearly convey the complex theories and practices of classical Taoist
arts to the North American audience.
